With their win over the Katz this afternoon, the Diamondbacks have secured the number 1 seed for the playoffs. The Katz will lay claim to the number 2 seed. The Katz and Diamondbacks finish the regular season with a record of 5-1.
The Force will have the opportunity to play spoilers and throw the playoffs into turmoil as they battle the defending champion Outlaws. With a win, the Outlaws will clinch a spot in the playoffs and make the late game a win or go home scenario for the two teams playing the late game. If the Outlaws lose, their fate will be decided in the late game.
The final game of regular season will pit the Silverbacks against the Maddogs. A win by the Silverbacks will give them the tie breaker in the head-to-head scenario over the Maddogs. With an Outlaw win, the Maddogs and Silverbacks be battling who goes to the playoffs. The Maddogs can win and hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Outlaws and claim the 4th seed. If the Silverbacks win, the Outlaws will lock up the 3rd seed and the Silverbacks will have the head-to-head tie breaker over the Maddogs and claim the 4th seed in the playoffs.
If the Outlaws lose the afternoon game, then the Silverbacks will be playing for playoff points and controlling their destiny and the Outlaws. A win by the Silverbacks will force a three way tie at 3-3 between the Outlaws, Maddogs, and Silverbacks. Playoff points will seed the three teams with the top two teams filling the 3rd and 4th seed and the lowest playoff point team missing out. If the Maddogs win, the Silverbacks will be eliminated as they will be tied at 3-3 with the Outlaws who hold the head-to-head tiebreaker. |

It's a full weekend of playoff implication games for the OMFL. At 11am, the Katz and the Diamondbacks will square off in a battle for first place. A loss by the Katz would drop them from 1st seed to 2nd seed for the playoffs. A win by the Diamondbacks will move them to first place. If the Katz win and hand the Diamondbacks their second, then it's playoff turmoil that will take all night to sort out.
The 3pm matchup will face the winless Force against the Outlaws. While out of the playoffs by all calculations, the Force can add to the playoff turmoil with a win over the Outlaws. The Outlaws could have a spectacular victory and a watch the Diamondbacks suffer a massive defeat and move into second place... or a massive loss to the Force could push the Outlaws out of the playoff picture entireley. If the Outlaws win, they are in the playoffs one way or another. If they lose, then it will come down to points and the final game of the night.
The Silverbacks will play the Maddogs at 7pm and the saying "win or go home" has never been more serious than in this game. A win by the Maddogs will lock up a 3rd place seed. A win by the Silverbacks will get them a shot at the 4th seed. With an Outlaw loss and a Silverback win, it's a three way tie for two spots in the playoffs and it all comes down to points. But nothing is locked up and today's action could see these teams move around the standings all afternoon. |

The Spencer Katz are the first team to clinch a spot in the 2010 OMFL Playoffs. The exact spot is not yet determined as there is one more game for the Katz and the other contendors have two. At worst, the Katz could fall into a 3 way tie for first with a loss to the Diamondback's on April 24th. A win over the Diamondbacks will make them the only undefeated team for the 2010 season and give them the 1st seed in the playoffs.
The Outlaws and Diamondbacks are tied at 3-1 with the Outlaws having the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Diamondbacks. If both teams win out, there would be a three way tie with the Katz for first place and those ties will be broken with playoff points. Playoff points are awarded to the winning team for a margin of victory up to 15 points per game. A losing team will be receive their margin of loss up to -15 points. On April 24th, the Outlaws will play the Force and the Diamondbacks will play the Katz. A win by the Diamondbacks would move them from the third seed to the first seed. A significant win by the Outlaws or a win and a significant loss by the Katz will move them from first to third. The Katz will fall no further than third as they will be done for the season while the Outlaws and Diamondbacks will have to play games on May 1st.
The Silverbacks and the Maddogs are tied for fourth place at 2-2. The Silverbacks currently have the edge in playoff points 13-7. The two teams have not played each other as their head to head matchup will take place on April 24th. To fuel playoff seeding turmoil, these two teams will play the two teams tied for second in the last week of the regular season on May 1st. The Silverbacks will face the Diamondbacks and the Maddogs will face the Outlaws. The results of those games could reshape the entire seeding for the playoffs. |
